For the fifth year in a row, the College Board named Lake Washington School District (LWSD) to its Annual AP District Honor Roll. LWSD is one of only 373 public school districts in the United States and Canada and one of four in Washington state to be honored. Lake Washington is one of two districts in the state to be a multi-year recipient of the AP Honor Roll Award.
We embrace an ongoing cycle of organizational learning and improvement. Continuous improvement occurs through a cycle of learning and improvement to ensure that the district and our schools are performing at the highest levels.
As a high-performing district, we continuously monitor and analyze student achievement results and organizational results. We engage in continuous cycles of learning and improvement to ensure we are performing at the highest levels. School and district level continuous improvement processes are in place. We regularly evaluate programs and practices to determine how we improve our service to students. We engage in a defined process of: planning and learning, implementing, and evaluating to ensure our efforts are achieving our desired results:
Building level continuous improvement processes help schools determine which strategies and programs are best helping students achieve. At the district level, board-established Executive Limitations policies focus on the means used to accomplish End Results for students. The board regularly monitors Executive Limitations focused on expectations associated with: academic program, instructional materials, district staff, budgeting/financial planning, facilities, technology, student learning environment and more.
We set key performance indicators aligned with our strategic goals and monitor organizational performance to determine how we can continuously improve.
