Policies

It is the policy of the Lake Washington School District, to the extent authorized by Washington State Law, to provide reasonable school health services to all students.


The District will provide clean intermittent catheterization to students as medically necessary, subject to the following requirements:

  1. The student's parent or guardian submits a written request for clean, intermittent catheterization;
     
  2. The student's parent or guardian provides a current written order from the student's physician that includes written instructions for the procedure, to be reviewed each school year.

School staff other than school nurses shall be trained by a registered nurse in the proper procedures prior to administering clean, intermittent catheterization to a District student.

 

The District shall provide clean, intermittent catheterization in compliance with Washington Administrative Code section 246-840-820.
