Juanita Elementary Affirmation Mirror

Redmond, Wash. - Lake Washington School District is planning three ballot measures for the February 8, 2022 election. The measures are a replacement of the existing Educational Programs and Operations (EP&O) levy, a replacement of the existing School Technology and Capital Levy, and a Building Excellence Capital levy. A recommendation was presented to the Board of Directors on October 4, and they formally approved the levies at their October 18 board meeting.

Saidhruv Chittamuri & Paige Stime-perfect ACT scores

A student from Redmond High School (RHS) and another from Nikola Tesla STEM High School have achieved something that less than one-half of 1% of test takers achieve. Saidhruv Chittamuri, senior at RHS, and Paige Stime, senior at Tesla STEM, earned the highest possible ACT composite score of 36.

    Retirement Programs

    Separation by Resignation or Retirement
    Employees who are under contract and intend to separate at the close of the contractual year shall inform the superintendent of such intention in writing as soon as possible after such decision has been made. Those who wish to resign prior to the end of the contractual year shall request a release from their contract from the board.

    Employees not under contract shall give 14 calendar days written notice when resigning.

    An eligible employee who resigns or retires from the school district shall be entitled to terminal leave pay for any unused vacation time accumulated pursuant to district policy.

    The board authorizes the superintendent or designee to express the appreciation of the Lake Washington School District for the years of service that had been rendered by the resigning or retiring employees.

    Reinstatement of Illness, Injury, and Emergency Leave
    Employees who voluntarily resign from employment with the school district, who are not reimbursed for unused leave under the provisions of RCW 28A.58.096, and return to the employment of the district within three years shall be credited with the illness, injury, or emergency leave which they had accumulated at the time of such resignation.
