Redmond, Wash. – At a live event on the evening of Wednesday, January 6, Lake Washington School District (LWSD) Superintendent, Dr. Jon Holmen, announced Pathway Forward, LWSD’s plan to return students to in-person learning for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year.

An International Community School student is the 2019-20 winner of the sixth annual Washington State Zine Contest. Katya Rukhlinskaia, who is now in eighth grade, won for grades 7-9 for her “Tribes: The Cowlitz” zine entry.

    Procedure Substitute Employment

    Substitute Teachers, Selection, and Assignment

    1. The substitute's name shall be placed on the district's substitute list after the following requirements have been fulfilled:
      1. An application form has been completed,
      2. Completion of I9 form and attached needed ID,
      3. Federal Income Tax Form W-4 has been completed and filed,
      4. Registration of current valid Washington State certificate,
      5. Successful paper screening of file, and,
      6. A district need for the level and subject areas.
    2. Arrangements for calling substitutes shall be handled by the personnel substitute office.
    3. Substitutes shall be assigned to the levels and subject areas suited to their experience and training except in emergency situations.
