The district recognizes that an effective school library and technology program is an important and integral part of the instructional resources of each elementary and secondary school. The school district shall therefore provide and maintain adequate school libraries and technology programs, in each school consistent with state law. The superintendent, or designee, will establish procedures for the selection of materials within the library and technology program with the understanding that media literacy resources will consist of a balance of sources and perspectives. The superintendent, or designee, shall also develop rules, regulations, and procedures to ensure the quality of content and systemic maintenance of the libraries.

The library serves as a resource to integrate information and technology literacy within subject areas to help all students meet the content goals.
