It shall be the duty of the superintendent to recommend to the Board of Directors standards for graduation from high school that comply with statutory and State Board of Education requirements.
Commencement and Baccalaureate Exercises
Commencement exercises shall be free from sectarian influence. Cultural traditions such as invocation and benediction observances inherent in such exercises may be honored in the spirit of accommodation.
The district shall not sponsor a baccalaureate service. Parents and/or outside groups may elect to sponsor such a service without any promotion through the school. Staff and student participation shall be voluntary. If school facilities are used, they may be rented by the sponsoring body.
To be eligible to participate in commencement exercises, students shall meet all state and district requirements for graduation.
Early Graduation
Specific regulations and procedures for permitting exceptionally able students to complete their high school education in less than three years shall be developed by the administration and approved by the board. A student who graduates early must complete all requirements of the State Board of Education and this board.
