Would you wear a watch and slippers made from carbon dioxide emissions? Or brush your teeth using toothpaste made from CO₂? Before the pandemic, students at Evergreen Middle School were learning about real products that capture and store carbon dioxide that would otherwise go into the atmosphere.

The school directors and staff of the Lake Washington School District, recognizing the rights and responsibilities of parents, shall encourage parents to become actively involved in those decision-making processes related to the improvement of instruction by providing opportunity for this involvement through parent-teacher-student associations, parent club organizations, advisory councils, and/or special task force committees.
In addition, unless the Board of Directors makes a specific exemption, the selection of administrative new-hires for all elementary, middle school, and senior high school principals and vice principals shall involve citizen participation.
The Superintendent is charged with the responsibility of developing and implementing the selection guidelines and processes.
