The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced Wednesday that five Lake Washington School District seniors will receive National Merit Corporate-Sponsored Scholarships.
Lake Washington School District (LWSD) will offer two parent information and input sessions where community members will be able to view the proposed materials being considered for sexual health education, and give input.
Lake Washington School District’s (LWSD’s) Board of Directors will be initiating a national, open search for LWSD’s next superintendent with the support of a consulting firm experienced in identifying and recruiting leaders for high-performing school districts like LWSD. The same process and search firm will be used for considering internal and external applicants.

Lake Washington School District’s 2017-18 Budget has earned the Association of School Business Officials International Meritorious Budget Award. This award promotes and recognizes excellence in budget presentation in school districts.
Lake Washington School District will make up one snow day by extending the school year by one day. The last day of school, a half day, will move from Wednesday, June 20, to Thursday, June 21.
School start and end times will be changing in the 2018-19 school year as a 7-period day is implemented for high school students. We acknowledge any change has an impact to families’ current schedules. We want to ensure families have ample time to plan for the change.
At the March 5 School Board Meeting, the Board unanimously approved the names of both the New Elementary School in North Redmond and the New Elementary School in Redmond Ridge East, which will open in fall 2018.
Through partnerships with Lake Washington Schools Foundation, Lake Washington School District has established a District Innovation Program. It makes funding available to schools to implement innovative ideas. The goal is to celebrate and recognize innovative programs in our schools
