    Mr. Burden provides leadership to ensure success for elementary students and schools in the Juanita and Lake Washington Communities. He supports school improvement efforts focused on ensuring academic success for every student by collaborating with and leading school principals to provide effective support, coaching, and supervision of school teams, programs, and services focused on increasing student access and engagement, closing achievement and opportunity gaps, and supporting learning and success for all students. He provides elementary level co-coordination and co-facilitates elementary level meetings. Mr. Burden works collaboratively with families in the Juanita and Lake Washington  Communities and supports communications and conflict resolution efforts.

    Sally Askman, Director

    Ms. Askman provides overall leadership for the success of the district’s technology operations, ensuring robust and reliable infrastructure to support student learning and productivity of district staff. She leads the development, integration, and implementation of the district’s technology policies and plans aligned with district goals and objectives. Ms. Askman assumes responsibility for technical and network operations, hardware and software support; data center functions; and, technical applications and technology project management and works collaboratively with technology integration to develop and implement efficient and effective cross-departmental systems and processes.

    Mr. Krieger serves as the district assessment coordinator, providing leadership and oversight for the implementation of the national, state and district student assessment program. He works in collaboration with district and school leaders to mine, analyze, display, and interpret data and trends to support decision-making and program development efforts to increase student access and engagement, close achievement and opportunity gaps, support student learning and success, and improve organizational outcomes. Mr. Krieger oversees and manages processes pertaining to student reporting and coordinates educational research processes.

    Ms. Mallon works in collaboration with the director to provide leadership for integration of technology tools, applications, and services to support and improve teaching and learning. She provides oversight of the district’s library-media program and supports efforts focused on ensuring academic success for every student by collaborating with district leaders, school principals and teams to appropriately use technology to increase student access and engagement, close achievement and opportunity gaps, and increase student learning and success. Ms. Mallon ensures staff participation, parent involvement, and community engagement in the processes pertaining to the adoption of teaching and learning technologies and works collaboratively with the Technology Operations department to develop and implement efficient and effective cross-departmental systems and processes.

    Pat Fowler-Fung, Director

    Ms. Fowler-Fung provides overall leadership for human resources (HR), assuming responsibility for the processes, policies, and programs that enable the district to recruit, hire, and retain highly effective personnel. Ms. Fowler-Fung assumes responsibility for ensuring positive and collaborative employee and labor relations, as well as efficient and effective HR operations aligned with district goals and objectives. She is responsible for certificated and classified recruitment and hiring; staffing; substitutes; and, compliance with all legal and contractual matters pertaining to employment. Ms. Fowler-Fung serves as the district’s civil rights compliance coordinator, monitoring and coordinating the district’s compliance with non-discrimination laws and policies.

Mr. Kelly assumes responsibility for classified staffing and employee relations processes and compliance with all legal and contractual matters pertaining to classified employment. Mr. Kelly oversees employment-related processes pertaining to the Americans with Disabilities Act.
