2019-20 brings an 11th year of significant growth to the District. LWSD is now the second-largest district in the state, behind only Seattle Public Schools.

30 LWSD schools receive 2016 Washington Achievement Awards
The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education announced 280 schools statewide will receive Washington Achievement Awards. Of those 280 schools, 30 are in Lake Washington School District (LWSD). More schools in LWSD earned awards than any other district including the two districts that serve more students than LWSD.

Forty-seven Lake Washington School District (LWSD) high school seniors have been named semifinalists in the 65th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. That is the most ever for LWSD.
Lake Washington School District (LWSD) was accepted today into the League of Innovative Schools, a national coalition of forward-thinking K-12 school districts organized by Digital Promise, a nonprofit organization with the mission to accelerate innovation in education and improve the opportunity to learn for all through technology and research.
