 Program Details

Wilder PTSA is pleased to present a before school karate program by Eastside Family Karate. This program consists of a combination of karate, safety skills, coordination drills, and lots of fun activities that reinforces the idea that each child is smart, special, strong, and a winner.

The YOUTH program offers not only an effective self-defense program, but also a means for character development and discipline.  Children learn to concentrate and focus their energy constructively, which can result in better school work and grades.

In addition, a strong emphasis is placed on the development of self-esteem.  We believe that if a child’s self-esteem is strong, he or she is more likely to become a happy, secure, and productive adult.

Class is taught by Sensei Jim Mercer, a third degree black belt in Shudokan karate. He has been teaching in the Northwest for many years and has trained with numerous masters, including Shihan Morris Mack, head of Shudokan Karate-do in the U.S. Jim is owner of Eastside Family Karate. He is also a fully Certified ski instructor and Director of Training and Instruction at Mini Mountain in Bellevue. He relates well with kids of all ages. A uniform is provided with tuition.

This is a continuous 9 month program. Payments need to be every 3 months. First payment is due upon registering. You will be notified via email when the subsequent payments are due.
