 Program Details

Debate teaches a number of life skills: listening, problem solving, argumentation, public speaking, research, responding effectively, teamwork and many more. Throughout this class the students will have an opportunity to employ these skills as well as learning from examples of some of the best orators in history.

All students are required to participate in debate night. The debate topics will be decided at the beginning of the session. No later than week three, each team will be assigned their debate night resolution. The students will have plenty of opportunity to discuss, argue and become familiar with all resolution before the final debate. Prior to debate night, we will hold a Milk and Cookie session for team rehearsal and final consultation.

All classes are taught by Norman Alston.
