  • Barrier Reduction Application
The purpose of the barrier reduction program is to provide assistance and eliminate a barrier that inhibits a student’s success in an educational program. A student qualifies for financial support if they are eligible for the Free/Reduced Lunch program at their school (or current family financial situation is a barrier to student participation) and is enrolled in a 3 credit Skill Center Program. These funds may be used to pay for class fee, bus pass, gas card, program specific supplies, and other approved expenses.

To excuse an absence for students attending a WANIC class at LW Institute of Technology or DigiPen, a parent/guardian can phone 425.739.8400 or email and indicate the student's full name, date of absence and detailed reason for the absence. Learn more here about State laws regarding what absences are considered excused. Absences must be excused within 48 hours of the missed day. If you are making plans and it is unavoidable that your student will be missing 3 or more school days, please complete the Pre-Arranged Absence Form at least one week prior to the absence.
