Ribbet Run

The annual Thoreau Ribbet Run is a fundraising event hosted annually by the PTA. It is Thoreau’s primary means of raising money for PTA. Students collect pledges, and on the day of the event they run laps to earn money! Students have the opportunity to earn all kinds of great prizes for themselves or for their classrooms. The Ribbet Run is typically held in the Fall.

Email the coordinator, Teresa Arnold here.

What is the Ribbet Run for?

Rather than make parents tear their hair out with constant fundraising efforts (i.e., candy sales, holiday cards, gift wrap, etc.), we at Thoreau have ONE major fundraising event per year. We encourage all Thoreau students to request donations from friends, family and neighbors. Believe it or not, in past years our children helped raise as much as $20,000! This is how the PTA has been able to bring our children fabulous assemblies, enlightening field trips, fun dance lessons and so much more. We can only do this with your family’s help!

The children benefit from the experience of directly supporting their school and are able to win prizes for themselves based on the money earned. Teachers also receive money for use in their classroom!
