Admissions
Read about how to apply to Stella Schola Middle School here.

All Lake Washington School District students entering 6th grade are welcome to apply to Stella Schola Middle School. Priority is determined solely by a lottery system so that all who apply have an equal chance to attend. Those who are not chosen will be put on a wait list for a three year period. Maximum enrollment at Stella Schola is 90 students. While the lottery is for incoming 6th graders, older students may apply also, but will be admitted on a "space available" basis.

Here is the admission process which runs on the district time line:

  • Stella Schola Family Information Night,  January 14th, 2009, Rose Hill Junior High Cafeteria, 7:00-9:00 pm. Interested students and their parents are welcome to attend. Listen to a presentation specifically about Stella Schola from staff, parents and students. Applications for the 2009-2010 school year will be available at this time.
  • Last day applications will be accepted, January 30, 2009 . All components of the application must be in on this date (cover, parent components, student component, copy of most recent report card). It is the responsibility of the applicant to be sure that all components of the application are turned in.
  • Choice School Lottery, February 6th, 2009
  • Notification by U.S. mail to families of accept/wait list post-dated no later than February 13th, 2009
  • Families on multiple lists must choose one school only. Acceptance/decline letters from parents must be returned to Stella Schola Middle School post-marked not later than February 26th, 2009
  • Wait lists will be held through the summer. Families will be called in turn as openings come up. Families can choose to keep their child on the Stella Schola wait list (if they have not been accepted at another choice school) for three years.

The only way to describe this year is AMAZING!  I have learned as much in one year as I have learned in all the years I have gone to school! There is a lot of homework and that has been a challenge, especially when I have procrastinated!  But we have learned so much and I have a lot more confidence in my abilities now.  Along with the hard work, though, there are so many fun activities and funny things which have happened along the way!  I'd
love to tell you about them, but I'll let you find out for yourself!"
