HOMEWORK
Students should expect regular, daily homework.  Homework is relevant and reinforces the learning which is done at school.  Students should expect to spend a minimum of ten minutes per grade level each evening on homework.

REPORTING PERIODS
Stella Schola  reports on a semester basis.  Parents are asked to meet with the teacher for a one-on-one academic conference twice a year (November & March).

CURRICULUM
The curriculum at Stella Schola is aligned with the Washington state standards and LWSD level 5 graduation requirements.  Teachers work to provide  a challenging, stimulating, and hands-on curriculum for their students.  In-depth study of the basics is emphasized, rather than coverage of many subjects in a cursory manner.

The core subjects of reading the classics, writing, language, social studies, science, music appreciation, mathematics, and problem solving will be integrated (as much as possible) into the historical themes at each grade level.

YEAR-LONG THEME
The over all theme for the school is, “Grasp the Past:  the building blocks of the future are laid upon the foundations of the past.” Each grade level integrates subjects around historical sub themes which fit under the year-long umbrella theme.
