PHILOSOPHY
Students learn by immersing themselves in historical themes where as many subjects as possible are integrated, and where students are engaged in learning that relates to real life. We believe that ALL students can be successful in a positive, supportive environment where they can realize the rewards of hard work. At Stella Schola, students realize that self esteem comes from doing their best on meaningful and challenging tasks/activities. Having the same teacher for most of the school day makes integration of subject matter easier, helps promote curricular continuity, and increases the student's sense of belonging during these years of adjustment.
EMPHASIS
The emphasis at Stella Schola is on mastery learning for all students. Curriculum and student work is challening and relevant. By enriching and integrating as many subjects as possible into a year-long historical theme, students will learn from the past to make better choices and decisions in the future. The curriculum is strongly supported with classic literature. Teachers encourage students to make appointments after school if they would like extra help.
