Greetings!
It is my privilege to serve as the principal of Samantha Smith Elementary school. Meeting the needs of our students and families here in Sammamish is an honor and I feel very fortunate to be a part of such a wonderful school. Our staff is dedicated to providing a rich and nurturing learning environment for every student attending Samantha Smith Elementary.
Samantha Smith Elementary Vision: Success, Care, and Respect for All Learners
This statement captures our efforts throughout our schoolhouse. We have a wonderful diversity of cultures and abilities housed under our roof that we strive to encourage and challenge day in and day out. The staff understands that different learning styles require different approaches and strategies in order to successfully meet the needs of each learner. We are dedicated to pursuing new educational approaches as well as sharpening time tested methodologies to support the students we serve.
Due to the opening of Rachel Carson Elementary our school was downsized. This year has presented as a great opportunity to redefine our commitment to our overall vision and come together as a newly defined school. We are very excited about the addition of the 1st – 6th grade Quest program as well as our Learning Center. The addition of these programs has helped to enrich the environment that we have here at Samantha Smith Elementary.
I hope that you will choose to get involved with your child’s education by volunteering in the classroom or participating in our PTSA sponsored events. Together we can work to create an excellent academic foundation for your child and provide them the skills they need to be successful both now and in the future.
