Mrs. Cheatum is a Carl Sandburg Elementary Teacher.  She currently teaches 6^th grade. She has taught 14 years, twelve of which have been have been at Carl Sandburg. During the first two years of teaching, Mrs. Cheatum taught P.E. to kindergarteners through 12^th graders.  Currently, her favorite subject to teach is science.  She studied as an undergraduate at Arizona State University, then went on to get a masters at George Williams College. Between teaching jobs, Mrs. Cheatum was a naturalist for nature centers around the U.S.  What she likes to do for fun is ride her bicycle. Her children are twins, a boy and a girl, who are both grown. She has a husband that works for a government agency and a lovable golden retriever.
