Time to re-enroll for the 2010-2011 school year!

Dear Returning Renaissance School Family:

We are pleased that you and your student have elected to return to RSAR for the 2010-2011 school year.  Classes will begin Wednesday, September 1st.   Orientation for new and returning students will be Tuesday, August 24th as follows:  7th grade 1:30 – 2:30 pm; 8th grade 2:30 – 3:00 pm; 9th grade 3:00 – 3:30 pm.

During Orientation students will have their school portraits/ASB photos taken, receive locker and class assignments, turn in forms and payments, and meet new students & staff.  A family barbecue/ pot luck dinner follows at Beaver Lake Park pavilion, from 4:00 pm till dusk.  If you are interested in volunteering to coordinate this event, please contact our PTSA (RSARPTSA@hotmail.com) for more details.

To hold your child’s space at Renaissance, please complete, sign and return the second page of this letter to the office, no later than Friday June 4th, 2010.  Please include your Parent Contribution check, made payable to RSPTSA, for $200.  Alternatively, you can request to pay via credit card through our PTSA PayPal account.  Full and partial Scholarships are available for those needing financial assistance.  Please contact the Renaissance office for more information.

Should your Parent Contribution Fee, or a request for Scholarship, not be received

by June 4th, your child’s 2010-2011 space will be offered to a waitlisted student.

Please remember that RSPTSA is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) organization.  If your company has a matching funds program, your contribution check can be matched.  If you have additional questions regarding matching funds, please contact Treasurer Karen Wang at thewangs4@msn.com or at 425 898-0268.

One other important program to plan for:  Outdoor Education will take place Wednesday – Friday, September 22 – 24, with the 9th grade class attending for one additional night on Tuesday, September 21.  We are returning to Camp Waskowitz near North Bend for this rewarding educational experience.  The cost for camp is:  9th grade:  $210; 7th and 8th grade:  $190.  Please save the date for September 7, which is a mandatory PTSA/Outdoor Ed parent meeting. One parent from each family needs to attend this important information session and camp payment will be due at this time.

Outdoor Ed also camp also needs the support of parent volunteers to act as chaperones/activity leaders. There is no cost to the first 10 full time chaperones (5 female, 5 male) who sign up to attend. Please consider sharing a skill, craft or game at camp and sign up now with Judi McLaughlin (jljmc@comcast.net) as these spaces go quickly.

Thank you for the speedy return of the re-enrollment form so that we may make plans for next year’s students.  We are looking forward to another fulfilling and rewarding school year!

All School Project RSAR Art Keepsake Book

This year the PTSA funded the creation, soup to nuts, of an art book as our all-school project.  This book represents the written as well as visual arts and includes work of almost every student (participation by choice) at Renaissance.  You will want a copy of this great keepsake!

Books are $30, payable to RS PTSA, books will be available for purchase/pickup the last day of school.  If you have questions about the book, or wish to see a copy, email Mrs. Kane.  There will also be a book at the picnic today to look at.

We would like to have an idea of how many books to have on hand for distribution please let us know immediatley if you are interested in purchasing one.

This book would also make a great gift!
