Patty Foster is a graduate of San Jose Community College and San Jose Dental Technician College in California. She and her husband Al moved to Washington State 37 years ago. “It was one of the best decisions we made."
“My 25 year old son Paul, is now a Certified Child Life Specialist at Children's Hospital and enjoying working with children and their families. My daughter Emily, 22 yrs. old, is an Intern at Ben Franklin Elementary School doing her student teaching in Special Education. Both are living in Redmond, and I am proud of the work they are doing."
After many years of volunteering at Alcott where her children started out, Patty decided to become part of the LWSD staff, and began working as a substitute Instructional Assistant at Dickinson, Einstein and Wilder Elementary. When a position became available at Dickinson, she joined the staff and worked in their Resource Room teaching reading, writing and math. "It is so rewarding to work with children to help them reach their goals, and do their personal best."
Mrs. Foster’s favorite hobby would have to be reading. She enjoys a great mystery and always makes time to read. She combines her other two loves of working out to music. “My kids bought me an iPod for Christmas, and I’m hooked!"
“As I enter our fifth year here at Rosa Parks, I continue to be amazed by how our school has grown and developed into a place of learning that continues to embrace creativity, diversity, and high expectations all within a nurturing environment. I am so fortunate to be working with the exceptional staff we have here, and will continue to be an example of the Rosa Parks' motto, “Be Nice. Work Hard.”
