Kristian Brekke
Fourth Grade Teacher
Phone: 425-936-2650

Historically, James Kristian Brekke grew up in Bellevue where he earned his Eagle Scout, before graduating from Culver Military Academy in Indiana.  He moved to Bellingham and earned a degree in Special Education from WWU and was a four time Championship in PNLA Lacrosse for Western.  After teaching 6th grade for five years in the Granite Falls School District, Mr. Brekke obtained his Masters in Education from Antioch University- Seattle where his thesis centered on the use of Outdoor Education for remedial and enrichment purposes.  It is his intention to be able to meet the needs and provide a universal education for any level of student, in any educational setting.

With growth and the ambition to make a difference, Mr. Brekke recognized an opportunity within the Lake Washington School District and transferred to Margaret Mead and continued teaching 6th graders for another four years.   Like a neighbor peeking over the fence, Mr. Brekke kept an eye on the happenings at Rosa Parks and jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the Puma Pack!   He has been at Rosa Parks for three years and has loved every minute of it!  He is a great addition to our 4th grade team.

When not teaching, Kristian enjoys gunkholing the San Juan Islands on his sailboat, snow skiing the Cascade Mountains, riding bikes and hiking the Snoqualmie Pass, fishing the local waters, and other activities that involve being rambunctious in the outdoors.   He spends his vacations visiting historical family in Norway and traveling to see other cultures and people.
