Dear Rosa Parks parents, students, and friends:
I am honored and excited to serve as your assistant principal at Rosa Parks Elementary. I have been an educator for more than 20 years, 17 of them right here in the Lake Washington School District. In addition to 5 years as a Montessori preschool teacher and director, I have worked in hundreds of classrooms as an occupational therapist supporting children, educators, and parents to prepare students to lead productive, successful and rewarding lives.
For the past 14 years I have served as the LWSD Assistive Technology Coordinator, working with students, teachers, and parents to effectively use assistive technology to support instruction and student learning.
My undergraduate degree from University of Puget Sound in occupational therapy provided me with a strong foundation in human and early childhood development. I returned to the classroom to pursue my passion for equity and excellence in education for every child. I graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Masters Degree in Education Administration, serving as assistant principal at Emily Dickinson Elementary and as Special Services Program Coordinator.
I find joy in the time spent with my husband of 32 years, my sons, and my parents. The family photos have shifted from pictures of my 2 adult sons to pictures of our three dachshunds. To keep things lively, we are also a foster home to rescued dachshunds.
I consider it a great privilege to work with your children and look forward to fostering a fun, nurturing, and challenging learning environment.
Sincerely, Heather Frazier
