Volunteer Opportunities
We need your help! Become involved in the RHJH Community by volunteering.

There are many great volunteer opportunities at RHJH.  You can help the RHJH Teachers, Staff, PTSA, or ASB.

Below is a list of the ways parents can help the RHJH Teachers and Staff during school hours.

·         We need volunteers for the library (re-shelving, tidying, helping with projects). This can be any time during the school day, but preference is to a "regular schedule". Please contact Ms. Condon mcondon@lwsd.org.

·         2nd period Algebra 1 class:  someone comfortable with Algebra to help support cooperative math groups on a regular basis.

·         Ms. Lazar clazar@lwsd.org would love a 6th period "reader" to read aloud to students during their various novel units.

·         Science staff Ms. Austin aaustin@lwsd.org, Bruce Bishop bbishop@lwsd.org, Tom Charouhas tcharouhas@lwsd.org, and Mr. Ewert  jewert@lwsd.org, would love to have assistance with setting up or cleaning up labs at the start/end of school days

·         Ms. Miller jamiller@lwsd.org and the orchestra need help during 3rd period for small group supervision and assistance or to just help re-file music in the music library.

·         Our behavior program would love to have volunteers willing to spend 20-30 minutes playing a game and building relationships with students in a 1:1 setting once a week or every two weeks.

·         Our behavior program would love to create their own small "student store" to reward appropriate behaviors and choices and provide incentives to students. Mr. Judy djudy@lwsd.org could give the specifics on what is needed.

·         We could definitely use assistance with filing needs and organization in our main office area.  Please contact Jodi Pollet jpollett@lwsd.org for more information.

·         We would appreciate any volunteers willing to help with some lunchtime supervision in our non-cafeteria areas (just helping keep students in the appropriate lunch areas) or even being in the cafeteria with students.

·         Ms. Cays rcays@lwsd.org needs help filing student work into their folders.

Below is a list of the ways parents can help the RHJH Teachers after school.

·         RHJH Math Club meets Tuesdays from 2:30 - 4pm and could use some volunteer help for supervision and student help.  Please contact Katie Folkman cfolkman@lwsd.org for more information.

·         The volleyball team needs game line judges and scorekeepers at home matches.

·         We have movie nights, game nights, and dances coming up, and parent chaperones are always helpful!

For more information regarding the above volunteer opportunities please contact the teacher directly through the email links above or Jodi Pollet jpollett@lwsd.org. Thank you for your support of the RHJH Teachers and Staff!

Below are the listed all the PTSA and (ASB) activities for the year. Thank you to everyone that has volunteered for the 2009-2010 school year! We have had a great turn out and most of the volunteer opportunities are filled.  We still have a few needs remaining for the Grandparents’ Luncheon, Student Store, Nominating Committee, Reflections Contest, and Advocacy and Legislative Chair. We look forward to working with all of you!

To signup to be a PTSA volunteer please contact Jeanette Simecek thesimeceks@comcast.net.

To signup as an ASB volunteer please contact Kristi Parnell at kparnell@lwsd.org. Thank you!
