RHJH PTSA Operating Budget for this year is around $20,000.  We have specific needs for funds this year to support budget shortfalls that have affected the following areas: school supplies such as copy paper, hand sanitizer, tissue, etc; the Lego Club to pay for the teacher stipend; and Athletic Scholarships for students who cannot afford the higher athletic fees.  We also have the rest of the programs that PTSA successfully supports each year, such as academic related scholarships, the School Play, Dad’s Breakfast, Grandparent’s Luncheon, Mother’s Luncheon, Staff Appreciation, Reflections Contest, Health Screening, replenishing of the Emergency Preparedness supplies, and 9th Grade Moving Up Ceremony.  We hope to continue to add more programs as our funds allows.  The current idea is to add an end of the year field trip for the 7th and 8th graders. The 9th graders have the 9th Grade Moving Up Ceremony, picnic and boat cruise and the 7th and 8th graders could look forward to unique field trip specific to their grade level.

How you can help!

Join the PTSA.  Your membership fee is also a fundraiser. Please refer to our Membership and Student Directory page for enrollment information.

PTSA fundraising events are parent driven.  Please participate in our fundraisers by obtaining company matching funds, donating, volunteering, asking family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, dentist, hairdresser, postman, etc. to participate.  Please venture out of your comfort zone and ask more people than you normally would.  The more funds we collect the more the PTSA can do for our kids.

If you have fundraising ideas, items to add to the silent auction, or want to volunteer please contact Jeanette Simecek thesimeceks@comcast.net.

Here are the details, flyers, and forms for our fundraisers below.  Thank you for your help and support!

 ASB and PTSA Fundraising Efforts

There are two great fundraising organizations at Rose Hill Junior High, ASB and PTSA, which exist to support our children and pay for many items that are not in the school’s budget.

The ASB supports funding needs for athletics, after school clubs and extracurricular activities.  ASB pays for team uniforms, transportation for students to and from sporting events, sport officials, many after school clubs, school dances, 9th grade ceremony and cruise, etc.  The ASB fundraisers and contributions are student driven.  The children participate in the fundraising efforts and collect the contributions.  The fundraising goal for the ASB is primarily raised from the Magazine Drive.

The RHJH PTSA supports academic related funding needs for students and teacher such as calculators, school supplies equipment, technology, field trips, instruction, art supplies, etc.  The PTSA fundraisers and donations are parent driven.  The parents participate in the fundraising efforts and collect the contributions.  The fundraising goal for the PTSA is primarily raised from the Pass-The-Hat fundraiser.

Why do students fundraise for ASB and parents for PTSA?  The ASB and PTSA are separate organization with different bylaws that allow them to support different funding needs.  The ASB is district directed and accounted for along side the school’s budget.  Legally, all funding raised by students must go to the ASB and therefore fundraising efforts cannot be combined with the PTSA.

We are separate groups with the common goal of enhancing our student’s junior high experience.  Please give generously and participate in both ASB and PTSA fundraising activities throughout the school year.

Thank you for taking the time to help support RHJH PTSA!
