ASB
Students interested in leadership have the opportunity to run for ASB Office. Every eligible student who runs for office is given the opportunity to participate in leadership. They plan pep assemblies, run care drives and earn valuable community service.
Drama
Rose Hill partners with the PTSA to offer outstanding student drama productions during the year. Past performances have included the Marquis du Carabas, Bye-Bye-Birdie, and Oliver!
Lego Club
The Lego club meets after school to work on lego projects that incorporate science, math and a lot of fun! The club is open to anyone! Mr. Ewert is the advisor (jewert@lwsd.org).
Honor Society
The Honor Society is a national organization dedicated to develop and encourage scholarship, citizenship, service, leadership and character. In order to belong to this organization, students in our school need to have a GPA of 3.5 or higher and attend our monthly meetings (first Wednesday of every month). During these meetings, our members determine what activities they want to do and how we are going to accomplish them. Some of these activities are a reward for being great students, other activities focus on giving back to our community by helping different charitable organizations.
Our students always look forward to our traditional end of the year field trip. They get to plan it and organize it and figure out how to get the necessary funds to make it a reality.
They connect with our population with activities like the Boo Gram sale, Holiday Gram sale and different drives to help specific charitable organizations.
With all these activities, our members have an opportunity to develop all the characteristics that make them great members of our society.
Math Club
The math club meets every Tuesday from 2:30 until 4:30 in room 138. Students share treats, play math games and solve math puzzles. The Math club also participates in two competitions, Mathcounts in February and the district Math Olympiad in April. Everyone is welcome to attend. Mrs. Folkman is the advisor (cfolkman@lwsd.org).
Mentoring Program
Rose Hill provides each seventh grader with a mentor chosen from the eighth and ninth grade. Mentors receive special training, and then meet once a month with a small group of seventh graders, beginning in the spring of their sixth grade year! Topics of these meetings include: what to expect at the junior high; how to set and keep academic goals; treating others with respect; and more. The mentoring program at RHJH has helped seventh graders make a successful and enjoyable transition to the junior high.
RHJH After Hours Club
Rose Hill is partnering with the City of Redmond to provide fun activities for teens after school on Wednesdays. Activities could include CT Workshops, Lacrosse, LWSD Drill Team and/or Aikido Kids.
Recycle Clublink
This award-winning service club handles all the recycling at Rose Hill Junior High. But it does much more than that, as well! Students learn about environmental issues and plan ways to make a difference. They won the King County Earth Heroes Award in 2007! Read all about it!
WTI (Washington Teen Institute)

We accomplish this by sponsoring events such as dances, fairs, walks, lunch time information sessions, signing drug free pledges, posting certificates of drug free parties, super field trips ( Puyallup Fair, Ice Skating, Sounders, Whirlyball, Family Fun Center and Wild Waves. We also provide guest speakers for the group and the student body. The group usually meets once a month at 7:15am and is open to every Rose Hill student.
