Welcome to Northstar Junior High!
Northstar Junior High School began in 1981 as one of Lake Washington’s first choice schools. Northstar has four full-time teachers and a student body of 90, with 30 students per grade level. At Northstar, we believe students learn best in a small, caring community where individual talents can be recognized and nurtured, academic growth encouraged, and moral development fostered. Each student will graduate prepared to lead a rewarding, responsible life as a contributing member of our community and greater society.

 Announcements

 
  • Applications for Northstar must be turned in at the Northstar Office before 2:30 on Friday, February 3. The Northstar office is located in the Lake Washington High School building in the southwest corner on the first floor.

    You can enter off of NE 75th Street or from the front of the high school off of 80th. Applications left at any other locations will not be part of the lottery drawing!
  • Northstar Junior High to Move - Change in grade configuration means Lake Washington High needs more space.
    As a result, Northstar Junior High plans to move next fall to the BEST High School/Family Learning Center (FLC) campus at 10903 NE 53rd St. in Kirkland. Northstar will occupy portable classrooms on that campus. It will reopen as a middle school.
  • Choice School Lottery Held on February 10
    All choice schools (including NSJH) lottery to be held at the district.
  • Choice school lottery notification letters sent by February 15
    Choice school lottery notification letters sent to all applicants.
