Uphus wins $4,000 OfficeMax Grant

Jamie Uphus, third grade teacher, was recognized by OfficeMax as part of the nationwide cause "A Day Made Better." This annual event, founded by OfficeMax and Adopt-A-Classroom, rewards and recognizes extraordinary teachers for their hard work.
Local OfficeMax associates surprised Uphus in her classroom with $1,000 worth of school supplies, including a new computer chair, digital camera and more. In addition, OfficeMax and local shoppers donated over $3,000 worth of school supplies to Muir Elementary.  She was one of 1,000 teachers nationwide to receive surprise deliveries from OfficeMax, with the total donations equaling one million dollars.
