About the Guidance and Counseling Program
The Margaret Mead and Samantha Smith Elementary Schools’ guidance and counseling program is a comprehensive framework of services that support and enhance student learning. Our framework is derived from the American School Counselor Association’s standards and provides:
A foundation that builds the academic, personal/social and career development of all students.
A delivery model that includes guidance lessons, interventions, individual planning and on-going support for all students.
A management system that is guided by a Counselor Advisory Council comprised of teachers, parents, an administrator, a school board member and a legislative representative.
Planning for the guidance and counseling program is determined by data that is collected and analyzed to support student learning.
An accountability system that reports students’ progress to the school and to the community.
Our Guidance and Counseling program is a busy and interactive service. I communicate with parents through the website, the school newsletter, email and phone calls. Please contact me if I can be assistance to you or your family.
