School Changes 2012-2013
In May 2010, the LWSD announced changes in grade configuration and feeder patterns that will allow more efficient use of current school space. Our district will move to a K-5 elementary, 6-8 middle school and 9-12 high school shifting one grade out of the elementary schools where space is already tight and moving the population to the secondary schools, where more space is available. Read the full press release.
Focus Day
The 2011 Focus Day Rally is scheduled for February 21st. More info coming soon.
School Funding Basics
Ever wondered how school funding is decided at the state level? Why does there seem to be enough money for technology and new buildings but not for supplies or needed staff positions? The answer lies in the state of Washington’s school funding system. For a better understanding of how school funding works please visit information available on LWSD School Funding site.
