Counselors are available to help students with academic planning, post high school planning (careers and education) and personal or social concerns. Students may sign up to meet with their counselor on the appropriate counselor's clipboard located in the Counseling Center
 
In addition to housing the counselors, the Counseling Center also houses the following specialists:  School Psychologist (guidance team referrals, IEP, 504 assessments)

Parent Nights are open to all parents. Unless otherwise noted, Parent Nights are held in the LWHS Theater and begin at 6:30 pm. All PowerPoints used will be available on line on our LWHS webpage and our Counseling Haiku page.

October 1: Career Planning/Post High School Options
Information on post high school options and opportunities
Best for: parents whose student is undecided about life after high school

October 8: Four Year College Application Process
Detailed information on the college application process for seniors
Best for: parents of current seniors and ambitious juniors

November 17: Paying for College/ Scholarships
College costs continue to increase which necessitates addressing the financial piece early; parents learn about the scholarship search process and different funding avenues
Best for: all parents

December 15: Navigating the FAFSA
UW speaker will give tips on completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid; the FAFSA determines eligibility for student financial aid
Best for: parents of current seniors

March 25: Two Year/Technical/Vocational/Transfer Options
Application process for options other than four year colleges; meeting held in LWHS Library
Best for: parents of current juniors and seniors

April 22: College for Students with Learning Differences
Information on the college application process for students who have a current IEP or current 504 Plan
Best for: parents of students with an IEP or with a 504 Plan
