SCHOOL NEWS:

Peterson’s desk). From Tuesday through Friday, the visual arts and
photography entries will be on display outside the library. Come see
Lakeview’s Wall Of Art. The school will be open from
Picture Retakes: Donette Studio will be back at
Lakeview on Monday to take pictures. If your child’s picture has not yet
been taken, they need to bring in an order form (available in the school lobby
and front desk) and payment to school Monday. The studio will also do
picture retakes, in which case your child should bring in their complete
portrait package inside the original envelope on Monday. Parent volunteers
may also have their pictures taken for their Lakeview volunteer badges.
Picture taking will begin at
Accelerated Reader: The New Accelerated Reader
program (AREnterprise) has rolled out. Lakeview now has access to tests on
1000s more titles. Parents can monitor their kids progress using Home Connect
at the website: https://Hosted207.renlearn.com/294615/HomeConnect/Login.aspx.
If your student doesn’t know the login and password, please contact his
or her teacher. The AR tests are still to be taken at school. For basic info on
Accelerated Reader, read here.
THANK YOU:
The Hoedown: While we thanked the parents who
helped with the Hoedown Family Dance last week, we forgot to mention Susan
Peder, who organized the event. Thanks Susan for pulling together a fun night!
FUNDRAISING (Mark
Jensen): The Sally Foster fundraiser will continue through Oct 26th.
Please note, checks for catalog orders should be payable to
“Lakeview PTSA”, and there is *no tax* on the orders..
You (or friends or family) can also order online at www.sallyfoster.com with school account
number 292209, and the items will ship directly to you.
Direct donations to the PTSA are still (and always)

tax deductible.
ENRICHMENT (Jenny
Carlson):
NEW
Snow Sports Bus, Part 2: Interest in the PTSA Winter Sports
Program has been overwhelming! The bus is now full, with several students on a
waiting list, but if we can get 17 more students to register before Halloween
we can add a second bus so everyone can go. Registration forms are available here
or in the magazine rack in the school lobby.
Ski/Snowboarding Conditioning Class: Thursdays,
starting 11/5 from
Changes
to Before and After School Enrichment Classes: The Lakeview PTSA is modifying how
before and after school enrichment classes are run to align better with state
PTSA policies and insurance guidelines. This means that starting with all
new classes, a parent chaperone will be required to be present at each
class. Families who sign students up for classes may be required to
chaperone one or two classes, depending on enrollment. Chaperones must
have completed the LWSD volunteer background check and be a Lakeview PTSA
member. If you are passionate about a class or have questions email lakptsaenrichment@gmail.com.
