Dear Lakeview Leopard Students, Families, Friends, and Visitors To Our Website,
I’d like to welcome you to Lakeview Elementary School! Lakeview is a K-5 school located in the heart of Kirkland, Washington. We are a friendly community who take great pride in celebrating a strong partnership between the students, staff, parents, and community members which support and enhance the learning opportunities of every student in our school!
Currently, Lakeview serves about 466 students. We have a dedicated staff and an active parent volunteer network that support student learning in many ways. Lakeview is an exceptional school in which learning thrives due to this strong community partnership!
It is a pleasure to serve as principal of Lakeview Elementary School. The 2012-2013 school year is my third year as principal of Lakeview Elementary School. The opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children has been a passion of mine since I was a young child growing up in a small town in Montana!!
I have been fortunate to share my passion for educating children through my work with students, staff, parents, as well as the members in the related community for seven years as a teacher and 23 years as an elementary school principal. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Reading Education from the University of Montana in Missoula. I attended Seattle University for graduate school where I received a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership along with Curriculum and Instruction. My husband and I have three sons: one in tenth grade, and twins who are sixth graders. We treasure our family time enjoying travelling, watching sporting events, camping, gardening, hiking, reading, and cooking.
Again, I extend to you a very warm welcome to the Lakeview Elementary School community. If you’re a visitor, take a look around our website and get to know us a bit. If you’re a parent or neighbor, I’ll see you the next time you’re in the building! And if you’re a student, always remember how very proud I am to be your principal
Warm regards,
Shawna Rothaus
