- I am Tracy Ferries and I teach first grade at Lakeview Elementary. I have been teaching at Lakeview since 2000. This will be my 14th year teaching and I can't imagine doing anything else! I love seeing children develop and learn throughout the school year! Especially in first grade - there are so many changes!

- I was born in San Francisco, California. I have an older sister, Stephanie, who is currently living in San Marcos, Guatemala with my five-year old niece, Marley. My dad still lives in the Bay area and my mom lives in Woodinville. My dad works as an accountant and my mom enjoys being retired! My family moved up to Kirkland right before I started kindergarten at Ben Franklin Elementary, I LOVED school. It was when I was in elementary school, that I decided I wanted to be a teacher. Which wasn't a big surprise for my family, since teaching goes back over six generations!

- After graduating from Bellevue High School, I went up to Bellingham to attend Western Washington University. I received my degrees in elementary education and special education. I moved down to Seattle and started my first year teaching in Federal Way. During my second year teaching (in the Highline School District), I decided to go back and get my masters in educational technology. After that, I moved school districts, yet again, to the Lake Washington School District. After teaching one year at Samantha Smith, I transferred to Lakeview.

- I bought my first place, a town house, in Renton in 2004. I have two cats; Roo and Emory. I love doing projects on my house. Last year, I added a glass tile backsplash to my kitchen. One of my new hobbies is pottery. I love throwing pots on the wheel and building things by hand. I also enjoy doing crafts, watching movies and spending time with my family and friends.
