I grew up in Everett Washington. My mother was head of staffing at Everett General Hospital and my father was the plant manager of Black Clawson, also in Everett. I have one older brother, Bill, who is a sergeant with the Wildlife and Fisheries Department.
I graduated from Cascade High School. After attending Western Washington University for two years, I then transferred to Washington State University (Go Cougs!) where I majored in Elementary Education with an emphasis in reading and a Minor in coaching. I received a Masters degree in reading from Pacific Lutheran University.
I started my career teaching second grade in Puyallup, where I also did my student teaching. After meeting my soon-to-be husband, I moved to Bellevue and began teaching third grade at Redmond Elementary. I worked my way up the grades over the years and began teaching fifth grade. I love a fifth grader’s emerging personality, enthusiasm, and sense of humor.
I live in Kirkland with my husband, Jim, who is a journeyman glazier for Sunset Glass and our “daughter” Molly, a 100+ pound shepard mix.
My hobbies include working out, reading, spending time with family, and shopping!
