Useful resources to help parents ensure success for their children.

In these tough economic times we want to make sure you are aware, and have information regarding some of the support programs available in our school and larger community.

1)      Within our school we offer assistance through our Free and Reduced Lunch Program (see application on our website and return to school). This program has changed since we were in school; students continue to use their regular I.D. card to purchase a standard lunch (a standard lunch includes an entrée, fruit, vegetables, and a drink - a la carte items cost extra).

2)      Another program for families- Washington Basic Food Program Basic Food is a program for families who meet income guidelines. Basic Food helps people to afford a nutritious diet by providing eligible households an electronic benefits card and monthly benefits to buy food at participating grocery stores. If you qualify for this program you would automatically qualify for free or reduced lunch.

3)      Did you know? The definition of homeless- If a family lives in any of the following situations: a) In a shelter, motel, vehicle, or campground, b) on the street, c) in an abandoned building, trailer, or other inadequate accommodations, or d) doubled up with friends or relatives because they cannot find or afford housing. If any of these apply to your family please feel free to contact Cheryl Chikalla at 425-936-1297 for information and assistance.

4)      Free or low cost health insurance for children under 19 is offered by the Community Health Access Program call 1-800-756-5437. Immigration status does not matter. This insurance covers medical, dental, vision, mental health, substance abuse counseling and more.

We hope this helps, please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or need additional information.
