National PTA Reflections Arts Competition
The Reflections Art Competition is a National PTA cultural arts competition whose purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Young artists get involved in Reflections through the PTSA. All entries are due November 1, 2011.
The 2011-2012 Reflections theme is: "Diversity means…"
What does diversity mean to you?
A student may submit an entry in any of the following areas. Only original works of art are accepted.
· Literature -- works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, drama, short stories and lyrics.
· Music Composition -- original musical composition, with or without words on a CD.
· Photography -- prints up to 11 x 14 inches in color or black and white, including these techniques: photogram, retouched, montage, sandwich and multiple exposure.
· Visual Arts -- drawing, painting in tempera, oil, acrylic, watercolor & t-shirt paints, computer generated art, two-dimensional collage, printmaking, needlework & leather tooling.
· Film/Video -- original works, with or without sound, animation, narrative, documentary, experimental or music video/film on DVD.
· Choreography/Dance -- originally choreographed dance composition on DVD.
Get specific rules and guidelines from Ms. Haven or Ms. Alioto.
Turn finished work in to your LA teachers or to Mrs. Haven.
