An overview of the World Language classes offered
 
 

World Languages:

8th & 9th Grade French 1

The district-adopted series, Discovering French, provides the basis for the course and includes the text, a practice workbook, CDs for listening activities, integrated videos, vocabulary-teaching illustrations, Internet-based activities, communicative tools, and a wide variety of proficiency testing mechanisms.

In-class assignments: 2-3/wk

Unit 2 (1st qtr.)

Cultural introduction: friendship Theme: talking about people

Vocabulary/grammar quizzes; 1-2/wk

Unit 3 (2nd qtr.)

Cultural introduction: food Theme: having a snack in France

Skits, other oral presentations: weekly

Preparation for national French contest
