This is my 36th year in education. I received my K-9 teaching credential in California. I earned a Masters in Education in the area of special education (emphasis in learning handicap) at California State University, San Bernardino, and added middle school math and science endorsements at the University of California, Riverside. I taught for 22 years in Alta Loma, California. My first 13 years were in elementary education where I also served as K-8 Art Mentor for 5 years. In 1995, I moved to Washington. I first taught math and art at Meadowdale Middle School in the Edmonds School District. I then moved to the Bellevue School District where I worked as the K-5 art specialist at Sommerset Elementary and then moved to Robinswood Alternative Middle School where I taught math, social studies, and art. Following my principal from Meadowdale, I moved to Redmond Junior High where I taught art for five years. I then took a year out of the classroom to work as a consulting teacher - helping teachers new to the profession. I returned to the classroom the Kamiakin Junior high where I have been teaching 7th and 8th grade math.

What I love most about teaching is working with my students - I wouldn't have lasted this long if the kids didn't make it worth coming to work.
