Administration
It is a privilege and honor to serve as the administration to a fantastic group of staff members, awesome students and an involved community.

Joe Joss, Principal

I  graduated from the University of Washington (B.A. History), Eastern Washington University (B.A. Education) and Seattle University (M.A. Educational Administration) preparing for a career in education.  I taught Language Arts/Social Studies and German at Sumner Junior High, then started my administrative career at Cedar Heights Junior High in Kent.  This is my tenth year at Kamiakin and I'm incredibly proud of our students, staff and community.

Margaret Kinney, Assistant Principal

I am so proud to be a part of Kamiakin Junior High. This is my 19th year in education and my 11th year in the Lake Washington School District. I am committed to helping make all of our students feel connected to their school family, challenged in the classroom, and valued as individuals. At the heart of Kamiakin is the belief that every student can learn and be ready for high school and beyond when they leave us – it is my privilege to be a part of that journey! When I  am not at school I am playing with my 3 year- old twin daughters!  Drop in anytime – my door is open.

WE BELIEVE…

All students learn best in a safe, healthy, respectful, and invigorating environment that maintains high expectations for each student.

Student success is fostered by supportive communities.

Kamiakin staff honors the social, cultural, and academic diversity of all students.

All students have the potential to learn and flourish, and should be provided with a variety of ways to demonstrate mastery and growth.

Relevancy enhances motivation, retention, and learning.

Our beliefs guide us in ensuring

ALL students will be successful
