The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation's premier organization for high school students (11th and 12th graders), as it recognizes those who have excelled not only in school, but also within their communities.
After its founding in 1921, the NHS has focused on promoting SCHOLARSHIP, CHARACTER, LEADERSHIP, and SERVICE, which have come to be known as the club's four tenets."The purpose of this organization shall be to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in the students of secondary schools."
