Tickets are $6 each and will be sold at lunches and after school today, Wednesday, from 2 - 5 pm and on Thursday prior to the 9:15 assembly and from 3:30 - 4 pm by the Commons. Please bring a check made out to Ben Franklin PTA for the number of tickets you are purchasing.

How Would You Spend $17,000? - Last Week for Input: Franklin PTA is in the planning process of how to spend $17,000.  We need YOUR suggestions via a two-question survey. It's quick. It's anonymous. Add your suggestions to those from kids and teachers. Do it today! The PTA will collate suggestions on Thursday, May 24, after which we will send out a second survey asking for your input in ranking the suggestions. More information at www.mybenfranklinpta.org.

Nominate Outstanding Volunteers! Please take time to nominate your favorite volunteers and teachers for special recognition during the Volunteer Appreciation Tea on May 31. The PTA will be awarding the Golden Eagle, Golden Acorn or Educator of the Year awards. The deadline for these online submissions is May 24. Thank you for taking the time to make sure those who help make Franklin such a great place of learning receive the recognition they deserve!!

Upcoming Events
Staff Honors Volunteers: Franklin staff will celebrate school volunteers at the Volunteer Appreciation Tea on May 31 from 9:30 - 11 am in the Commons. Classroom visits are 9:20-9:30 am.

News From the PTA
Helping Families and Students: There are a couple of families (to remain anonymous) at our school who are struggling right now, and need some help. The PTA doesn’t donate directly in these circumstances, as they have promised to carry out their mission of “enriching the educational lives of students.” However, PTA Board member Katie Nyquist has offered to chair a new role of “Our Community Cares,” and she will coordinate donations (meals, gift cards etc) to those in need at Franklin. If you would like to donate, please contact Katie Nyquist, Marion Holland or Kari Ferrin

Field Day Needs Advance Help: Ben Franklin’s annual Field Day is Friday, June 1, and prior help is needed to purchase supplies, stage equipment and communicate with parent volunteers. Day-of event help is needed to provide general supervision, serve snacks and lead station activities. Please submit the form or email Ms. Denney if you would like to help out. If you email please indicate your volunteer preference.

Next School Year Start: We are not yet at the end of this school year, but the district wants parents to know that the first day of school, Wednesday, Sept. 5, will not be an early release day. Ben Franklin will dismiss students at 3:30 for that Wednesday only.
