The counselor supports student's academic, personal/social and career development through direct instruction and/or consultation with other staff members. Guidance lessons include instruction in the following areas:
- Developing a healthy self-concept and skills to interact positively with others
- Learning strategies for academic success
- Appreciating diversity

Our school community is mourning the loss of 2nd Grader, Jay Ellis, You are invited to read his Obituary. His memorial will be held on Wednesday 24th October at 3 pm, at Lake Washington United Methodist Church in Kirkland.
Prinicpal Bilanko emailed all families about the loss of Jay. You are welcome to read her email.
Many have asked how can I help? Here are two ways:
1. When Jay was undergoing treatment, he was comforted by the stuffed animals that Children’s Hospital gave to him during his visits. In honor of Jay, please bring a new stuffed animal to the service to donate to Children’s Hospital. If you would like to donate but are not attending the service, collection boxes will also be in the Office until Friday 2nd November.
2. There will be a fund created to help support Jay’s family during this time of need. We will post information as soon as it’s available.
