Check Out Materials
Students and parents/guardians are able to check out items from the Emerson K-12 library with your student’s school identification card. Much like a neighborhood library, you are also able to borrow books from other schools upon request (they’ll be delivered to Emerson K-12 for pick-up). As with any library, you will be responsible for the return of any items including textbooks you have checked out. Failure to return materials may result in fines and withholding of diplomas and transcripts.
Return of Library Materials (Texts, Books, Resources)
Although reimbursements are no longer available, many families have used reimbursement funds over the years to buy curriculum resources including textbooks and other materials. Please remember that any non-consumable materials purchased with parent allocation funds belong to the LWSD and Emerson K-12. They must be returned to the Emerson K-12 library by the end of the school year. If you have materials that you hope to continue to use (such as a math or social studies text, etc.), please bring in these materials to the office so they may be checked out to you. Please collect and return any items that you have at home. We appreciate your effort to return items so that others may use them.
Library Expectations
· Kindergartners and high school students may be in the library at the same time. Our older students are expected to respect the needs of our youngest students and keep language and behavior appropriate for their youngest peers.
· Food, beverage and chewing gum are not allowed in the library.
· The library is a quiet place for students and parents to work and study. Please respect them but keeping your voice to a whisper when visiting the library.
