Activities
Family Learning Center offers a great variety of extra curricular activities designed to further enrich and round out the educational experiences of all our families.

Due to the family nature of our school, sometimes our parents plan impromptu activities and parties for holidays, birthdays, and just for fun.  Below are some examples of these opportunities.

All School Functions and Activities

·        Community Activities: Family Learning Center encourages the development of community with “Community Activities.” These planned events for the entire school are devoted to education, relationships, and fun and are coordinated by the FLC Parent Board.

·        Academic Fairs:  the History, Science, Art and Literature Fairs are held each year so that students can highlight their academic achievements.

·        ASB:  The Associated Student Body is a student organization that represents the student body.  It plans fund raising, community service and extra curricular activities for the student body of FLC.

·        Fine Arts:  Each year we produce a major school musical production that involves children in grades K through 12, and involves artists, actors, and singers. In addition, there are opportunities for all in the form of displays, concerts, and plays from our broad arts classes.

Grade Level Activities:

·        Islandwood: FLC students in grades 4-8 are encouraged to take part in this four day, outdoor environmental education camp on Bainbridge Island.  The camp uses working displays, is very “hands-on” and is integrated instruction.   It is a highlight of the FLC year for those that attend.

·        Geography Bee:  Students is grades 4- 8 may choose to participate in the National Geographic Society Geography Bee.  We are proud to have had the 2006 Washington State winner, Caitlin Snaring as a student at FLC.
