Explorer Community School is a Lake Washington School District school operated with district funds. The Explorer Parent Association is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which exists to provide further resources for the school.
The Parent Association raises money in a few ways:
- The primary source is dues, which are collected from each Explorer family. This year dues were $150/student/year.
- Fundraising and corporate matching funds supplement our dues.
- We often opt as a community to participate in a “pass the hat” fundraiser, which is supplemental to dues. The amount in recent years has been $25 per student.

- During the 2009/2010 school year, Explorer began participation in the PACE program. Through PACE, schools receive a 5% donation from purchases made at participating shops and businesses. Click here for more information about PACE.

The money raised supports camp and additional enrichment programs that enhance the curriculum and support our students.
