The mission of the Environmental Club is to help our school be “greener” and to learn ways to reduce our impact on the environment.  Work projects include activities with "green" energy, learning what is happening with our solar panels, educating the students about the three “R’”s (reduce, reuse, and recycle),  and working next door at Emily Dickinson/Explorer forest trail and wetlands to help restore the area to the native plants that should be there.

RECYCLE LIGHT BULBS!  As an Earth Day Project in 2012, we became a Puget Sound Energy Light Bulb Recycling Station. This allows all of us to recycle Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs, and can be used by anyone at any time the school is open. Why is it important to recycle light bulbs? Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs contain mercury.  Did you know up to 30,000 pounds (15 tons) of mercury contaminates our landfills each year?  So come on down and recycle your used light bulbs and help the planet.
