Evergreen’s Math Club is open to all students. The group meets once a week to solve problems independently as well as collaboratively to hone our problem-solving skills. Students are welcome any time they are able to attend, and there is always a variety of practice material available to help prepare students for several contests that are held throughout the year. The contests include:
- The American Mathematics Contest 8 (AMC 8) is open to all interested seventh and eighth graders. AMC 8 is given all over the world and is meant to challenge students and provide test-taking practice. It is a 40-minute, 25-question multiple-choice test that includes the following topics: Probability, Spatial Visualization, Estimation, Everyday Application, Percent, and Reading/Interpreting Graphs.
- The American Mathematics Contest 10 (AMC 10) is open to all interested ninth graders. AMC 10 is given all over the world and is meant to challenge students and provide test-taking practice. It is a 75-minute, 25-question multiple-choice test that covers typical 9th and 10th grade concepts. Problems range from fairly easy to extremely difficult, so there’s something for everyone!
