Parent Involvement at EAS

Parent participation is an essential ingredient of EAS programs.  The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) coordinates committees of parents to support and assist in facilitating a wide range of school projects and activities.  Every family is expected to contribute 25 hours volunteer service or in-kind donations of needed resources each year.  Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving and chaperoning students on field study days and adventure learning excursions.
  • Facilitating special school projects and enrichment activities.
  • Assisting with clerical tasks in the school office.

How do we track volunteer hours completed throughout the year?
Each family is responsible for recording their volunteer service hours in Parent Organizer.  This is the only method we use to track the 25 hour per year volunteer commitment of each family.  To access Parent Organizer, go to www.parentorganizer.com or click on the Parent Organizer link in the Related Links box to the right.

Communication

Communication and trust are the foundation of a successful school.  Should any parent feel the need to discuss their child's academic progress or social adjustment issues, we have designed a Communication Process for handling such matters in a timely and positive manner.  You can review this process by clicking on Communication Process in the Related Links box to the right.

 Parent Access or Parent Organizer - which system do I use for what?


Parent Access
Want to check your student’s grades, attendance, or lunch account balance?  Want to electronically submit your LWSD Volunteer Application or add funds to your student's lunch account?  Log into Parent Access to do all of these things!  Link to Parent Access login is located in the upper right.

Parent Organizer
Want to view recent announcements and volunteer opportunities posted on Parent Organizer?  Need to submit online permission forms, register your student for Wednesday Electives classes, or submit volunteer hours for your recent volunteer activities with EAS?  Log into Parent Organizer to do all of these things!  Link to Parent Organizer can be found in the Related Links box in the upper right.
