Parent Involvement at EAS
Parent participation is an essential ingredient of EAS programs. The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) coordinates committees of parents to support and assist in facilitating a wide range of school projects and activities. Every family is expected to contribute 25 hours volunteer service or in-kind donations of needed resources each year. Volunteer opportunities include, but are not limited to:
-
Driving and chaperoning students on field study days and adventure learning excursions.
-
Facilitating special school projects and enrichment activities.
-
Assisting with clerical tasks in the school office.

How do we track volunteer hours completed throughout the year?
Each family is responsible for recording their volunteer service hours in Parent Organizer. This is the only method we use to track the 25 hour per year volunteer commitment of each family. Communication
Communication and trust are the foundation of a successful school. Should any parent feel the need to discuss their child's academic progress or social adjustment issues, we have designed a Communication Process for handling such matters in a timely and positive manner. You can review this process by clicking on Communication Process in the Related Links box to the right.
