During the past school year, Community School joined 21 other schools in Washington who pledged to reduce their school's greenhouse gas emissions. We learned quite a bit this past year about how our energy habits can impact the amount of CO2 we produce. Our efforts included turning off computer monitors when not in use, leaving some light fixtures off, reusing paper before recycling it, and turning down the heat this winter (especially during the weekends and nights). We plan to continue our efforts this year with a focus on the lighting and encouraging more carpooling.
